Quiet Adventure, II: Let it Fill You

Have you ever spent time in a place that gave you energy — even while you were expending it? We were hiking in the gorgeous rainbow-land recently and we each felt as if we could walk and hike and climb forever (even my three year old kept going and going). The supply of inspiration fueling us. The cool winter air filling us.

This piece is inspired by that excursion. An original oil painting, 8x10 inches, created with natural (and non-toxic) pigments on canvas.

This painting began with a raw pigment drawing on canvas. Then, the scene was built, layer by layer, until a landscape emerges — glowing and complex. This piece is absolutely gorgeous and seems to radiate light and tremendous feelings of warmth.

The canvas is especially thick — with a 2.5-inch profile, the sides of the painting are a part of the painting as well making it a 3-dimensional piece of artwork.
