Quiet Adventure, II: Through Fields of Dried Flowers (8x10)

The desert in winter is a bit surreal to me; the warm tones in the earth and sky in contrast to the cool air.

We spent time wandering through fields of cold, sun-soaked foliage and earth. A landscape of dried flowers. Magic.

This piece is inspired by that excursion. An original oil painting, 8x10 inches, created with natural (and non-toxic) pigments on canvas.

This painting began with a raw pigment drawing on canvas. Then, the scene was built, layer by layer, until a landscape emerges — glowing and complex. This piece is absolutely gorgeous and seems to radiate light and tremendous feelings of warmth.
