ABSTRACT POEM PAINTINGS

THE CENTER WILL

HOLD COLLECTION

All original watercolor paintings in this collection have all found their homes, and gorgeous limited edition print reproductions are available to enrich your walls.

Gently emerging watercolors

This piece is a part of creative flow, honest, and grounding. As this collection formed, themes emerged- gently pulling the threads of artistic expectation, and rejuvenating into this intimate work.

Each layer is a gorgeous mixed media of watercolor, gold, silvers, acrylic, and oil paint. While all of my originals from this collection have found their home, select limited edition prints are now available for your walls.

The poetry rooted in this collection

She makes her way
to the ocean, washing
the barnacles and nets off of her flesh,
feeling gently for the tender parts.
Sandpaper waves crash over her
toes, knees, chest, eyes
lightening the weight, exfoliating excess
she, made whole
under the brightness of honest rays.

It takes time to shed
the layers. The buildup is too much —
a lineage, a legacy,
a lifeline of salty bindings
From their fibers she weaves a tether.

She is the line, the anchor, the one rising. She let herself go.
The center will hold
Tethered to the good
And loosened from the things that tangle.

“The Center Will Hold” by Emily Jeffords

Grounded. Expanding.
The air so thin the waves below hypnotize.
A galaxy tossing and turning,
old stories blurring into salty spray.

Find peace.
Loosen your hold.
Judgment is reserved for the edit,
Not the experience

I want you close for this.
I want you here, nose to paper, because,
in this intimate space, the world expands. Pigment from the dirt, water from the skies, fears and stories draining from my heart
as the tether grows thin.

Galaxies, nebula, oceans, timelines, lifelines. The center will hold.

The center
will
hold.
